 硬件
I/A Series 四代兼容，從CISC 技術(shù)到RISC 技術(shù)、從Intel處理機到Ultra SPARC處理機，系統(tǒng)硬件與軟件可以獨立發(fā)展，實現(xiàn)了“長壽命結(jié)構(gòu)”的設(shè)計思想。通過系統(tǒng)軟件版本升級的方式，已投運的系統(tǒng)可以運行新的軟件版本，以隨時吸收新的技術(shù)，融合到現(xiàn)有的系統(tǒng)之中；不同系列的處理機也可以運行在同一網(wǎng)絡(luò)上。這樣充分地保護了用戶的，徹底消除了傳統(tǒng)的DCS早買早淘汰的弊病。
 軟件
支持UNIX(Solaris)與Windows XP 操作系統(tǒng)；采用C，F(xiàn)ORTRAN 等廣泛應(yīng)用的編程語言；SQL 關(guān)系型數(shù)據(jù)庫和Informix、Lotus 1-2-3 等商用軟件；并提供OPC、API和DDE 等接口，以及與SAP、PI等數(shù)據(jù)庫的接口。

建立于OSI 模型上，符合IEEE 的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，如IEEE 802.3、IEEE 1118、Ethernet。
